If you already have jamming, off-track, unusual noise, no-open/close, or imbalance, you’re in repair territory—lubrication won’t cure it. Fix the fault first, then start a PM routine.

Guideline: for high-use or outdoor shutters, service every 3–6 months. Indoor/low-use units: every 6–12 months.

Chain and bearing lubrication

Lubrication reduces friction and noise and extends lifespan, but it cannot solve broken parts, deformation, loose fasteners, faulty limits or wiring issues. Include it in a proactive PM plan to prevent after-hours failures.

  • Apply to: guides, bearings/shafts, chains/sprockets, moving pivot points.
  • Avoid: brake pads, limit switches, sensors, and controller internals.
  • After impact/forcing, perform a structural & safety inspection first.
